The Oxley Region Amateur Radio Club is proud to announce that the VK2RCN 6M Telegraph Point repeater is now on-air! Initial tests indicate excellent repeater coverage.
Repeater details are as follows:
Repeater Output: 53.800 MHz
Repeater Input: 52.800 MHz (-1MHz Offset)
Mode: Analog FM
No CTCSS required
The repeater has an output power of 50 Watts. It transmits and receives through a 4 cavity band pass-band reject duplexer connected to a (temporary) single Ringo vertical antenna elevated 8 metres above ground level. Major maintenance is planned on the Telegraph Point tower, at which stage a permanent commercial folded dipole will be installed on the tower further improving repeater coverage.
Thanks must go out to everyone who has assisted with the build of the repeater at many working bees – getting a repeater built and operational is no small feat. Visitors to the area (particularly for our quickly approaching Field Day) are encouraged to give the repeater a try, reports will be greatly appreciated.
